UVITA, COSTA RICA — With only a few short weeks away, many Envision Festival goers look forward to curing those mid-winter blues as they anxiously await the days until they can finally return (or for the first time) to the blissful, oceanside jungles of Uvita, Costa Rica on February 23-26th. With the release of the 2017 daily lineup schedule (see below) just yesterday, many are deciding how they will make the most of the four-day event by balancing a healthy amount of live music, yoga, performance art, workshops and of course local sight-seeing.
This year seems to be the most promising year yet. With some of the worlds most unique and talented artists, teachers, healers, and most importantly the attendees of all nationalities strewn across the beachside. Whether you want to bask in the sun, cool off in the ocean, or explore the geological wonders—it’s safe to say there’s a new adventure around every corner. The culminating high point for most seems to be the vibrant environment of like-minded individuals uniting in such an exotic environment. Every night, you can watch the sunset with thousands of other people, some of whom may be drumming, doing yoga, chanting, dancing or otherwise celebrating the day’s end.
People from all over the world come to gather here to elevate their vibrations on all spiritual and emotional levels, and to embrace the ideas of light and love through their shared interests in music, culture, nature and adventure. Just watching the 2016 recap will give you chills and entice your soul to come and “Viva La Experiencia” (live the experience).

A note from the Envision Festival organizer:
“Brought to life in 2011, Envision Festival is a transformative festival dedicated to awakening human potential and positive energy. Located in Uvitas, Costa Rica where lush, mountainous rainforests meet the sparkling, sandy beaches of the Pacific, Envision has blossomed from a backyard event into an internationally acclaimed community gathering. Each year thousands of festival goers experience days bursting with art, spirituality, yoga, education, and sustainability and nights committed to celebrating humanity through music, dance and performance, all in the name of connecting with nature, our planet and its inhabitants.
The inspiration for Envision revolves around being radically self-reliant and living sustainable lives; collaborative projects and musical performances happen daily, along with sunset celebrations at the close of each day. Envision is a regenerative festival for your mind, body and soul. Become a part of a global movement that is destined to shape our universal future while experiencing the beauty of the landscape, healing undertones, artistic expression, and the Pura Vida way of life.”
Headlining musical acts include a rare Central American performance by the legendary New Zealand native Opiuo, as well as Chicago live electronic music trio Autograf. Rising Appalachia will serenade the Sol Stage with their unique justice-seeking lyrics delivered by the soulful sisters Leah Song and Chloe Smith. From the Deep House genre, the Montreal Canadian duo Blond:ish will join headliner Acid Pauli, and will be performing sets they have been mastering from their current home of Barcelona. Georgia-born Zach Deputy will entertain festival goers with his beloved reggae/funk/soul fusion jams.
In addition to all the incredible headlining performances, Random Rab returns to deliver another world-renowned and crowd-pleasing sunrise set in the jungle. Back for his seventh time, Rab, along with Costa Rica’s live electronic world beat trio, Santos&Zurdo, are the only two artists who have performed at every Envision Festival since 2011.
To top things off, Envision delivers some of the best sound with their Funktion-One Evo 7 sound system rigged up in the all-natural jungle amphitheater. If you know what this is, you’re immediately excited. If you’ve never heard of Funktion-One sound, all you need to know is that the sound quality is world class. Bring really good ear plugs if you want to get any sleep at night.
