PHOENIX, ARIZONA — We kicked off 2018 in the best way possible here in Arizona. The fourth annual Decadence Arizona took over Chandler’s Rawhide Event Center put on by Relentless Beats and Global Dance. This New Years Eve weekend extravaganza was a huge success, people came from miles around to celebrate 2017 and ring in 2018 with artists such as Zedd, Destructo, Louis the Child, Snails, Armin van Buuren, and What So Not. Whether you were at the the Diamond Atrium, Sapphire Ballroom, or supporting the locals at the Ruby Courtyard there was not a single moment that there wasn’t awesome music playing.
The vibes were unreal at Decadence AZ. Everyone’s passion for the music and scene really created a loving, respectful environment for everyone to enjoy, dance, and celebrate together. A first time Decadence AZ attendee had shared these kind words:
“The crowd was one of the nicest and most fun I’ve ever experienced at a festival. The relentless rangers were especially dope, they just wanted to make sure everybody was having fun and spreading good vibes all night. The lineup included so many of my favorite artists. I even got to meet Freddy from Louis the Child in the crowd at Justice’s set at the end of day two. It was a perfect way to end decadence and start the new year.”
The festival’s set up, unique from other RB events, really made Decadence feel like a special event. The Diamond Atrium was in the huge warehouse and the Sapphire Ballroom was in a massive tent structure. This set up was perfect for this Arizona weather, as it really cools off at night. The walk was super quick from stage to stage and there was not a peep of sound bleed. In between the walk from main stage to second stage was merch, vendors, food, and drinks to make it super convenient to stop. Let’s not forget to touch on the fact that the production was out of this world. Tons of lasers and confetti really set the mood for these awesome artists to create memorable experiences.
Some of the most memorable sets of the weekend were definitely Zhu, Snails, and Zeds Dead b2b Jauz. Zhu always brings a unique, mysterious sound that set the vibe right in the Sapphire Ballroom. Whether you were dancing alone or with friends, you were definitely surrounded by love and pure bliss during Zhu. Snails was the set everyone really needed. Having a lineup with mostly house music people were itching to get their dubstep fix. The head banger came out in everyone as Snails tore up the Diamond Atrium with his notorious “Vomit-Step”. Zeds Dead b2b Jauz definitely brought the “wubs”. This was a truly unique set as these artists seamlessly mixed their sounds together perfectly creating a fun, energetic set while also keeping their own different styles.
A special shout-out to Deorro and Boys Noize for ringing in the year at midnight, such a breath-taking moment shared with great company. During Deorro huge balloons fell from the ceiling, turning it into dance party. Boys Noize had a huge confetti blast at the end of the countdown. Wherever you were for that moment, hopefully you had the time of your life.
Decadence AZ has really set the standards high for 2018 and all of Arizona and beyond are excited to see what Relentless Beats brings this year. Keep your eyes peeled for more information on Crush AZ and Phoenix Lights to come.
