PHOENIX, ARIZONA — From April 7-8th, aliens from all around the Arizona valley commenced for a gathering of good vibrations and out of this world music as Relentless Beats had put on their fourth year spring festival, Phoenix Lights 2018. Artists such as Seven Lions, Chris Lake, Zomboy and many other talented artists threw down otherworldly sets creating unforgettable moments.
Showing off Relentless Beat’s newest festival grounds, The Park at Rawhide was a huge success. Each stage was close enough to go back and forth so you wouldn’t miss anyone you wanted to see. The Mothership stage was on a huge patch of grass so many enjoyed chilling out in the back when it heated up during the day. The Colony stage which was curated by RBdeep had a unique set up to it, blow up arches and jungle themed stage created an intimate vibe to groove the night away to some of your favorite house artists.
The Invasion stage had great production and was super close to The Mothership and clothing/food vendors. For the first time ever Phoenix Lights had interactive art installations which you could climb inside and take photos with. The only negative thing about the new venue is the dust was still prominent which has always been an issue at Rawhide Event Center but there is some hope for more grass growing at The Park.
Some of the most special sets of the weekend were Martin Garrix, Justin Martin, and Zomboy. This was Martin Garrix’s Arizona festival debut. Due to Gucci Mane ending early Martin had played an extra 15 minutes! There’s no feeling compared to jumping up and down with your best friends while singing your heart out to his up-beat songs. Justin Martin had the coolest vibe ever at the Colony stage, it’s always a huge dance party when Justin is around. Drinks in hand grooving with each other is always the vibe, there’s never an unhappy face. Zomboy is OG and will never get old, his set was a head-bangers dream as the night cooled down and everyone’s energy heated up.
