SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIFORNIA — There is a number of EDM events to sift through for New Years’ Eve shenanigans. From clandestine warehouse parties with underground DJs to shows at stadiums and full-blown EDM New Year’s festivals like Decadence and HiJinx. But then there’s MTV’s SnowGlobe Music Festival where the setting is just a little bit cooler. And don’t get us wrong, SnowGlobe is a full-blown, three-day New Year’s Eve electronic music festival. But what sets it apart is its unique setting nested in the Sierra Nevada mountains in South Lake Tahoe near Northern California.
Imagine columns of fire escaping the main stage while the collective conscious of the crowd builds; the visuals on the screen count down: 3…2…1…Fireworks zoom through the air like mini rockets while snow falls to the vibrations of your favorite anthem. If you haven’t guessed by now, everyone is outside going crazy on New Years, in the middle of winter. That’s SnowGlobe Music Festival.

Skrillex which will call in the New Year at his 11:15 PM set on December 31st. Additional headliners include Fisher, Gigantic NGHTMRE (Big Gigantic x NGHTMRE), GRiZ, Louis the Child, and Tchami x Malaa. Rap legend E-40 will take the stage, as well as other hip-hop and rap artists such as EarthGang, Doja Cat, Vince Staples, and more. Attendees will also enjoy sets from A-Trak, CloZee, Spencer Brown and other festival favorites. A handful of official afterparties will rage on into the late hours of the night with artists such as NGHTMRE, Blunts & Blondes, Born Dirty and many more.
