DALLAS, TEXAS — Lights All Night (LAN) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a return to Dallas Market Hall in Dallas, Texas on Friday and Saturday, December 27 and 28 of New Year’s Eve weekend. With an increased capacity for the sold-out event, LAN this year played host to over +35,000 attendees from across Texas and beyond.
Since its inception in 2010, LAN continues to be independently produced by founder Scott Osburn. Over the past decade, the event has become the longest-running year-end EDM music festival in the entire country; the longest-running EDM event across the state of Texas; and the largest music festival in the city of Dallas. Over 550 music performers and 325,000 guests having attended the music festival since inception in 2010 – making LAN a top destination for travelers and local residents alike at the end of every year.
LAN continues to bring attendees a festival experience unlike any other, featuring a highly curated selection of the world’s most sought-after electronic and dance music acts with FOMO-inducing performances and larger-than-life production. This year’s celebration was no different with Day 1 performances including headlining sets from festival alumni Skrillex and 2019 Grammy Awards nominee DJ Porter Robinson’s side project, Virtual Self; as well as Tritonal, Herobust, Kayzo, Elephante, Slushii, and Yung Bae, among others. The acts who helped to close out the tenth anniversary festivities on Saturday for Day 2 included headlining sets from festival alumni Bassnectar as well as Louis The Child; in addition to 3LAU, Zomboy, San Holo, Liquid Stranger, Subtronics and more.
For a fourth consecutive year, Dallas Market Hall near downtown Dallas played host for the festival and featured five stages, including two main stages (Supernova and Intergalactic) and two outdoor stages (Planet Prime and Space Station) along with the return of the fan-favorite Silent Disco (Disco Galaxy). The two main stages continued to provide fans with countless awe-inspiring moments as the Supernova stage featured world-class LED screen production spanning nearly the size of a football field, and the Intergalactic stage was designed to mirror a European-style, intimate club environment.
In an effort to continuously refine and elevate the festival-going experience, the festival’s Planet Prime stage was transformed into hyper-intimate outdoor stages for special takeovers from some of today’s top dance music record labels and collectives including Night Bass (Friday) and GRVDNCR (Saturday). Other improvements included relocating the Silent Disco for an expanded dancefloor that was set to the backdrop of the acclaimed art installation “Light Leaks” – a scattered array of 50+ disco-style mirror balls that reflected light from three different projectors and cast 360-degree patterns that filled attendees’ peripheral vision.
This year’s event also marked a return of DreamHack, which offered festival-goers a 50-person freeplay lounge with an extensive variety of today’s top video games, all of which were free to participate for all attendees. The lounge was housed in a dedicated second-floor lounge providing expansive 180-degree views of the Supernova main stage performances.
Similar to years past, LAN also included some of the best food trucks in the DFW area and multiple free water stations throughout the grounds, as well as dynamic performances from Texas-based Lady L Productions including aerial silk dances from performers suspended high in the air above the main stage crowds; stilt walkers; fire dancers; LED aerialists and more.
Lights All Night would also like to thank the Visit Dallas and Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District (DTPID) teams for once again supporting the 2019 event. For more information on the DTPID program, please visit www.dtpid.com.
Additionally, the official charity partner for the festival continued to be DFW Rescue Me – a foster-based pet rescue nonprofit based in the Dallas area – for which LAN donated a portion of proceeds from the 2019 event to support the local nonprofit’s year-round initiatives.
