UVITA, COSTA RICA — Set in the jungles of Costa Rica, Envision Festival is preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary this February and it’s shaping up to be another transformational experience. But what sets this festival apart from the rest isn’t just the diverse lineup or exotic environment but their heightened focus on sustainability.

With a philosophy rooted deeply in environmental protection, Envision Festival sets the standard when it comes to sustainability, earning the FestX’s Outstanding Green Event Award and industry recognition for community impact, procurement and permaculture principles.

To celebrate the new year and decade ahead of the 7-day experience, Envision Festival is excited to announce their goal to plant 10,000 trees in Costa Rica in 2020 and is inviting the community to join in on the action for a chance to win (2) 7-Day VIP Tickets + (1) $600 Flight Voucher for the upcoming festival. Sharing the news on social media, festival co-founder Stephen Brooks pledges to plant ONE TREE for every share in a recent social post (up to 2.5k shares) and explains the process and requirements in more detail. Since its establishment, Envision Festival has planted and donated over 45k trees in Costa Rica to assist in the regeneration of the jungle and ecosystem that is home to more than 500k species representing nearly 6 percent of the world’s biodiversity. Envision Festival partner and founder of Community Carbon Trees, Jennifer Smith states:

“If we are truly to create lasting solutions to the environmental problems facing the planet, we have to do MORE than plant trees for global warming. . . . Ideally, we also have to find ways to preserve local communities and cultures, while immediately rebuilding deforested soils, wildlife corridors and protecting watersheds and old-growth forests. This work is especially important in countries like Costa Rica where there still exist intact stretches of the primary jungle along the coast which, in turn, influence the oceans and marine life, together so vital to the overall stability of our global climate.”

The “green” bar is being continuously raised through each department, sector and partnership in the festival’s organization to reach top-level environmental standards. For Electric Feels, we couldn’t be more proud to support such an amazing mission and we hope other music festivals both domestic and international take focus on their efforts.
