The beloved Australian indie-pop band Parcels is gifting us with another intricate and emotive track, adding to their already stacked catalog. Entitled “Leaveyourlove,” out now via Because Music, the song sees the band’s signature retro grooves on full display creating another classic earworm you won’t want to shake. Alongside the single, Parcels offers a soulful video version of the track, warmly inviting the audience into the multifaceted intimacy of their rehearsals.

“Leaveyourlove” is the first single of 2024 from the group as the band returns to the studio to work on their anticipated third studio album, the follow-up to their acclaimed 2021 album Day/Night. Watch this space for more details…

Of the new single and video, the band say: “‘Leaveyourlove’ is our first new song in a long time. It was first a short instrumental jam over a drum loop in Berlin, which you hear at the start. Then months later, a whole lot of vocal ideas, tracked by Noah, Pat and Jules at a studio on the coast of Oaxaca in Mexico. They were joyous and carefree sessions on the beach and in the mountains. We had fun with the idea of trading lines like a boy band and giving each of our singers their own verse. It’s a song that fell into place naturally and inspired a clear direction for our next album. And in a full circle completion for “Leaveyourlove’” we filmed the video together back in Berlin almost a year after it was recorded.”

Parcels recently came off an extensive tour that saw them perform to their biggest crowds to date across the world, including a one-off, sold out, special live performance at iconic outdoor music venue Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado and appearances at the world’s biggest festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo and Corona Capital. The band will head to South America in early 2025 to play 4 dates on the Lollapalooza festival series.

Parcels are keyboardist Louie Swain, keyboardist/guitarist Patrick Hetherington, bassist Noah Hill, drummer Anatole “Toto” Serret, and guitarist Jules Crommelin. The band released their debut, self-titled album in 2018 and it has since gone double Platinum. The record was met with widespread critical acclaim, with NME dubbing it “cheeky, timeless, and devilishly catchy” in their 5-star review. Parcels’ second studio album Day/Night was praised by critics including Consequence who hailed the record: “a major advancement on the Parcels formula.”

Aside from studio albums, Parcels have also showcased their performance prowess on live albums Live Vol. 1 and Live Vol. 2, both of which display a different side to the band in terms of musicianship and approach to their studio material. To date they’ve amassed over one billion streams600k album sales worldwide, cross-continental tours, shows with French royalty Phoenix and Air and a debut single that was produced by none other than Daft Punk.
