“Dancing In The Dark” is a brooding house single about heartbreak. It builds from twangy guitar licks and a forlorn vocal delivery, which is swept away by undulating basslines, shuffling drums, lysergic laser flourishes, and cascading pitch-sliding synth leads reminiscent of ’90s dream trance.
“This song is inspired by the desert,” Noizu says. “Both of us are drawn to it as a place to escape the noise of LA. We wanted to recreate the feeling we get there: the vibrant stars at night, the cacti, the country bars, and the vast beauty of it all. The song came together so naturally that we finished it in a day!”
English-born, LA-based producer Noizu is a platinum-certified phenom responsible for some of the most recognizable house tracks from the better part of the last decade. LA-based Annaca is a singer/songwriter from Brighton focusing on pop music while making waves in the dance scene as an esteemed vocalist. They have worked together on a host of tracks together, with Annaca’s voice backing several Noizu’s tracks, namely the nostalgic “Summer 91 (Looking Back)” single that has amassed 105M streams to date, enjoying heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1, Capital Dance, Kiss FM UK, Sirius XM.
