Buena Vista Lake, California – Lightning in a Bottle. Experience the magic that can only be found at this transformative festival and discover some of the hidden gems through its four immersive stages: The Grand Artique, The Stacks, The Compass, and The Junkyard. These stages offer unique atmospheres and lineups, ensuring an unforgettable festival experience for all who venture down the beaten path. Of course, there are also larger Woogie, Thunder, and Lightning Stages, but this article will focus on the more intimate, community-led stages.

These stages will have some artists who you might not have discovered yet, but each stage has an impressive lineup showcasing a wide range of music including Sloth Acid label boss Sacha Robotti, and other unique artists such as Luca Lush, High Step Society, Moondrop and so much more! 

In this article, we have added a treat and made a Spotify playlist for all 4 stages. Each one highlights the corresponding artists for each stage. Enjoy!

The Grand Artique

The frontier town that gets down. Step into a world where time stands still and creativity knows no bounds. This stage is a hub of artistic expression, featuring live performances, interactive art installations, and captivating storytelling sessions. People will often call LIB “Burning Man lite” and this stage is a great representation of that well deserved nickname. Get lost in the enchanting melodies of folk bands or dance the night away to electronic beats in this vibrant and eclectic space. 

The music that you can find on this stage is nothing short of unique. With artists like High Step Society, a band whose mission is to “bring people together” with a sound that captures the spirit of the Jazz age and launches it a century forward. Or Siren & Seer, a duo that gives a fresh take on live electronic music by merging traditional idioms of Americana, folk and blues with cutting edge dance genres.

Ayla Nereo brings lyrical meditations of song and story, with energetic electronic rhythms and disco ballads to celtic melodies and ethereal mantras. And there is so much more, listening to this playlist definitely took me to some new styles of music. Suffice it to say, The Grand Artique definitely offers a wide spread of styles and activities that will take you across time and space.

The Junkyard

Embrace the spirit of creativity and sustainability at The Junkyard stage, where recycled materials are transformed into musical instruments and art installations. Previously The Favela Bar, you can groove to the beats of upcycled percussion or marvel at larger-than-life sculptures crafted from salvaged materials.

This stage embodies the festival’s commitment to environmental stewardship and showcases the transformative power of creativity. The lineup found here is sure to keep you bouncing for all you househeads. The Junkyard offers a range of house music like melodic house, tech house, bass house, and so much more.

The Junkyard will feature artists like Sacha Robotti the founder of the record label Sloth Acid, who has released with many labels like Dirtybird, Desert Hearts, and more. It will also include artists like Galen who brings an assorted range of sound as his sets maintain a conscious groove of cohesion. Techno Tupac who has released songs with artists like Omnom and Maximono, his after-hours, club sound is quickly gaining traction.

Arya and Maximus bringing some heat with heavy hitting bass house. For melodic house fans, artists like Ali Farahani, Anton Tumas and Patricio and just so manyt more will grace this unique stage.

The Stacks

Dive deep into the underground music scene at The Stacks, where cutting-edge sounds and experimental genres collide. From techno to bass music, this stage showcases emerging artists and underground favorites, promising a sonic journey like no other. Let the pulsating rhythms and mind-bending visuals take you on a transcendent musical adventure.

Uncover all varieties of emerging bass dubstep, and DnB at the haven for renegade frequencies, with artists like Toadface, the brother of legendary bass artist Yheti, who also brings captivating and innovative sounds to bass music. Luca Lush with his wide range of sounds between bass, techno and overall interesting music.

The Compass

Find your direction at The Compass stage, where world music and global beats take the spotlight. Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of sounds from different cultures around the globe, all the way from traditional rhythms to contemporary fusions. If you want to experience the transformative part of Lighting In A Bottle, central hub for growth and connection by day becomes a nonstop electric dance party through the late hours of the night.

The Compass provides educational opportunities on indigenous cultures, psychedelic medicine, climate change, love & relationships, healthy eating, and more. This learning center encourages attendees to engage their senses and inspire community action by day. By night you will be drawn to the hypnotic melodies of African drumming or the vibrant energy of Latin music.

This stage offers a range of artists who celebrate the universal language of music. Featuring artists like Moondrop whose dance style has taken an ethereal approach following her roots back to their celestial origins. Her style has been described by her observers as graceful and aquatic tribal fusion with Shamanic intention. There are so many other soundscapes to discover with artists like Literatura, Ruby Chase, and TE KAAHU. Be sure to discover a new sound at The Compass.
